Pecs, Hungary

Greg, Jelena, Steve and I went to Pecs, Hungary for an over-night get-away. There is no bridge crossing the Danube in this area, so we crossed the river by Ferry. (Jennifer graciously volunteered to watch all 5 kids!)

Pecs is located about an hour away, it's a beautiful town and was even named the European Cultural Town of 2010.

They grow their own grapes and make their own wine. You can't buy it, they only have it available in their two restaurants located in town.

Later that evening we were invited by the owner to have a private wine tasting in the cellar.

The owner is a client of Sylvester's and he arranged the whole thing.

It was very cold down in the cellar...

He used some sort of a cyphen to bring the wine up out of the barrels. It was really interesting.

He told us all about the area, the climate, the types of grapes they grow and the history of the Inn. Sylvester interpreted for us.
