We just returned from a week long trip to Mammoth with my side of the family; we were joined by my Dad, Mom, brother and his family and my sister. We rented a house and had the perfect combination of outdoor nature fun each day and then returned (dirty and dusty) each afternoon to warm showers, a hot tub and a delicious home-cooked meal (we each took turns). We hiked, fished, biked, and rode horses! With over 20 lakes in the Mammoth lakes area, we didn't run out of options each day. We even took a gondola to the 11,000 foot summit. And here's the other cool thing about Mammoth, it is a completely dog-friendly community. Sugar was welcome in restaurants, on all trails (that's a big one if you've been to a NP lately) and all public transportation! Yes, Sugar even rode the gondola to the summit! Happy dog days of summer!
